Las Vegas suffered a one-run loss to Reno on Wednesday. Starter Parker Dunshee was charged with 2 runs in 4 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Grant Holmes allowed 4 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief to take the loss for Las Vegas. First baseman Eric Thames singled in two runs with two outs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to give the Aviators an early lead and then belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to bring his team within two. Catcher Shea Langeliers, acquired from Atlanta in the Matt Olson deal, tagged a two-run homer in the 4th inning and also singled and walked in the game, while left fielder Dalton Kelly singled twice, drove in a run and swiped a pair of bases. Shortstop Nick Allen singled and doubled, and designated hitter Christian Bethancourt had a pair of hits, including a double, and scored a run in the loss.

  1. We’ll probably see both of these guys before very long. I was shocked that the A’s held on to Billy McKinney considering getting on base isn’t his strong suit.
