RHP Steven Echavarria turned in an excellent start to help the RockHounds register the win over the Hooks on Thursday. The 21-year-old righty allowed 1 run on just 1 hit and 2 walks while notching 8 strikeouts through 5 frames to earn the win. Echavarria threw 75 pitches, 48 of them for strikes, and he’s now allowed just a single run in 15 innings over his last 3 starts for Midland. RHP A.J. Causey got the final three outs to secure the save for Midland. Designated hitter Bobby Boser singled, doubled and drove in a run, while center fielder Pedro Pineda singled, walked and stole a base, and left fielder Cameron Leary doubled, drew a walk and drove in 3 runs for the RockHounds.
