LHP Jamie Arnold turned in an outstanding start to help the RockHounds record a one-run win over the Hooks on Tuesday. Last year’s top draft pick for the A’s threw 6 scoreless innings, allowing 6 hits while notching 9 strikeouts without issuing a walk. He threw 92 pitches, 65 for strikes. In his 3 starts in the month of August, Arnold has allowed just 3 runs in 17 2/3 innings while notching 25 strikeouts and issuing just 2 walks. RHP Blaze Pontes got the final three outs to secure his 2nd save for the Hounds. Center fielder Nate Nankil went 2 for 3, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored a run, while third baseman Bobby Boser singled, walked and stole a base. Second baseman Casey Yamauchi singled twice and drove in a run, and shortstop Ali Camarillo singled in a run, walked and scored a run in his first game for Midland. In other news, shortstop Leo De Vries was placed on the 7-day injured list with a shoulder ailment, while RockHounds infielder Justin Riemer was reassigned to Triple-A Las Vegas, and Camarillo and infielder Jared Sprague-Lott were both promoted from Lansing to Midland on Tuesday.
