Center fielder Pedro Pineda put on an impressive performance to lead Lansing to a one-run win over Peoria on Wednesday. The 22-year-old Dominican outfielder reached base 5 times and collected 3 extra-base hits, going 3 for 3 with a triple and a pair of doubles while drawing a pair of walks, driving in the Lugnuts’ first run in the 2nd inning and scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Pineda has gone 6 for 11 with 5 extra-base hits and 3 walks over his last 3 games for Lansing. Left fielder Breyson Guedez also collected 3 hits and was hit by a pitch, while second baseman Jared Davis singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored a run in his Midwest League debut, and catcher Bryan Arendt doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run for the Lugnuts. LHP Jackson Nove turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks through 5 frames, while RHP Mitch Myers tossed 2 scoreless and hitless innings in relief, and LHP Griffin Kirn gave up 1 run in 2 innings of work but picked up the win for Lansing.
