RHP Kade Morris led Las Vegas to a shutout victory over Tacoma on Sunday. The 23-year-old righty allowed just 5 hits and a walk while striking out 6 through 7 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win. Morris threw 90 pitches, 60 for strikes, and he’s now allowed just 1 run over his last 12 1/3 innings of work. RHPs Brooks Kriske and Michael Kelly each tossed a scoreless inning in relief, with Kelly securing the save and completing the five-hit shutout for Las Vegas. Third baseman Tommy White singled, doubled and was hit by a pitch, while catcher Brian Serven singled twice and drove in a run, and center fielder Henry Bolte went 2 for 5, and he’s now gone 10 for 15 over his last 3 games to raise his average to .305.
