On a day when all the A’s affiliates went down to defeat, Midland LHP Wei-En Lin turned in the top performance of the day. The 20-year-old Taiwanese southpaw allowed just 2 hits with no walks and 6 strikeouts while throwing 7 scoreless innings for the Hounds. He threw a total of 80 pitches, 60 for strikes. Lin has now allowed just 1 earned run over his last 17 innings of work, and his 1.61 ERA is good for third-best in the Texas League. He left the game with a one-run lead, but LHP CD Pelham was charged with 2 runs in the 8th inning to take the loss. Catcher Cole Conn singled, walked, stole a base and scored a run, while first baseman Brennan Milone and second baseman Colby Halter both singled and stole a base, and right fielder Jared Dickey singled in the RockHounds’ sole run in the loss.
