The RockHounds scored 16 runs to take their second straight from Frisco on Saturday. After homering in Friday’s win, designated hitter Jonah Bride blasted two homers in Saturday’s victory. Bride belted a pair of solo shots and also singled twice, drew a walk, scored 4 runs and drove in 3 on the night, and the 25-year-old is now tied for the league lead in both home runs and runs. Right fielder Jhonny Santos singled, doubled, homered, drew a walk and drove in 3, while center fielder Chase Calabuig singled, homered, walked and drove in 4, and catcher Collin Theroux walked and tagged a two-run homer for the Hounds. Starting pitcher Kyle Friedrichs allowed 2 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Austin Briggs picked up the win despite giving up 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief. RHP Nick Highberger surrendered 4 runs in just 1/3 of an inning, and LHP Aaron Brown tossed 2 2/3 scoreless frames to register the save for the RockHounds. The Aviators battled back to secure their first win of the season in extra innings on Saturday. Left fielder Luis Barrera singled, homered and drove in a pair of runs, while designated hitter Frank Schwindel singled, walked and homered. Right fielder Greg Deichmann had 3 hits and drove in the tying run in the bottom of the 9th, and center fielder Buddy Reed singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to provide the Aviators with the walk-off win. RHP Grant Holmes had a rough start, surrendering 5 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks in just 3 innings of work, while RHP Brian Schlitter gave up 4 runs in 1 inning of relief. RHP Cam Bedrosian tossed 1 scoreless inning in his Las Vegas debut, and RHP Ben Bracewell threw a scoreless frame in the top of the 10th to pick up the victory for Las Vegas. Four Lansing pitchers combined to shut out Lake County on just four hits on Saturday. Last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Jeff Criswell, made the start and tossed 2 scoreless innings in his pro debut. Japanese import Shohei Tomioka threw 3 shutout innings to earn the win, while RHP Colin Peluse contributed 3 scoreless frames in relief, and RHP Aiden McIntyre pitched a perfect 9th to pick up the save. Last year’s 3rd-round pick for the A’s, center fielder Michael Guldberg, lined a home run down the left field line in the 3rd inning, while third baseman Cobie Vance doubled and drew a walk, and second baseman Max Schuemann doubled, stole a base and scored a run on a throwing error on Saturday. Stockton suffered its third straight loss to Modesto on Saturday. Starting pitcher Kumar Nambiar gave up 3 runs over 4 frames to take the loss, while tandem starter Grant Judkins allowed 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work for the Ports. 18-year-old Colombian center fielder Brayan Buelvas singled, walked and scored Stockton’s first run in the 4th inning on Saturday. First baseman Tyler Soderstrom singled and walked, while designated hitter Lazaro Armenteros singled and notched his 5th stolen base to tie him for the league lead, and left fielder Junior Perez doubled for Stockton’s only extra-base hit in the loss.
