The RockHounds snapped a three-game losing streak to notch their first win of the season on Friday. First baseman Jonah Bride led the way by tagging a two-run homer in the 1st inning and then singling and scoring the tying run in the top of the 8th. Outfielder Mickey McDonald singled in a run, walked twice and scored the winning run, while third baseman Jeremy Eierman doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Bryce Conley allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 3 1/3 innings of work, while LHP Zack Erwin tossed 2/3 of an inning in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Zach Jackson got the final two outs in the 9th to notch the save. Las Vegas lost its second straight to Sacramento on Friday. RHP Parker Dunshee had a shaky start, issuing 6 walks and surrendering 6 runs over 4 frames to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. Third baseman Jacob Wilson singled, walked and homered in the 3rd inning to briefly give Las Vegas the lead. Center fielder Luis Barrera had 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a pair, and designated hitter Greg Deichmann singled, walked twice and stole a base in the loss. The Lugnuts lost their third straight to Lake County on Friday. Starter Reid Birlingmair allowed 3 runs over 5 frames to suffer the loss, while LHP Dalton Sawyer gave up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, and RHP Jack Weisenburger, the A’s 20th-round draft pick in 2019, struck out the side in order for the second straight outing. 22-year-old Cuban left fielder Lester Madden singled twice and drew a walk, while last year’s 3rd-round pick for the A’s, center fielder Michael Guldberg, had a pair of hits, and right fielder Jake Suddleson doubled and scored a run for Lansing in the loss. Stockton suffered its second straight one-run loss to Modesto on Friday, but catcher Tyler Soderstrom continued swinging a hot bat for the Ports. Last year’s top draft pick for the A’s singled, doubled, drew a pair of walks and stole a base, and the 19-year-old has now gone 6 for 16 with a pair of doubles and 3 walks over his first 4 games this season. Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled twice and swiped a pair of bases in the loss. Meanwhile, RHP Jake Walkinshaw, 2019’s 36th-round pick for the A’s, turned in a solid start for Stockton, throwing 5 scoreless frames, but RHP Vince Coletti was charged with 1 unearned run in 1 inning of relief to take the loss.
