RHP Zane Taylor turned in a strong start to lead Midland to a shutout win over Frisco on Saturday. Last year’s 5th-round draft pick for the A’s threw 5 scoreless frames, allowing 5 hits and just 1 walk while notching 6 strikeouts to record the win for the RockHounds. Taylor threw 86 pitches, 57 of them for strikes. RHPs Jay Dill, Micah Dallas and Blaze Pontes combined to throw 4 scoreless innings in relief to complete the eight-hit shutout for Midland. Catcher Davis Diaz singled twice, walked, stole a base and scored a run, while center fielder Euribiel Angeles singled, tripled and scored twice, and shortstop Leo De Vries drilled a pair of doubles for the Hounds.
