RHP Steven Echavarria turned in one of his best starts of the season to lead Lansing to its fifth straight win on Friday. The 21-year-old righty allowed 1 run on just 2 hits and 3 walks while notching a career-high 9 strikeouts through 6 innings of work to earn the win. Echavarria threw 96 pitches, 59 of them for strikes, and touched 100 mph on the radar gun in the 6th inning. Center fielder Pedro Pineda homered, walked twice and drove in 4 runs, while right fielder Rodney Green singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored a run. Designated hitter Logan Sauve had a pair of hits, walked and scored twice, and first baseman C.J. Pittaro singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Lugnuts.
