RHP Nathan Dettmer turned in an outstanding start to lead Midland to a shutout win over Frisco on Thursday. The 24-year-old righty threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits while notching 9 strikeouts without issuing a walk to earn the win for the RockHounds. Dettmer threw 82 pitches, 53 of them for strikes. RHP Kenya Huggins tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to secure the save and complete the four-hit shutout for Midland. First baseman Luke Mann homered and drove in a pair, while second baseman Justin Riemer had 3 hits and stole a base. Designated hitter Casey Yamauchi singled, walked and stole a base, and right fielder Devin Taylor had a pair of hits and scored a run for the RockHounds.
