Friday, July 24th: Brayan Buelvas Hits 2 HRs to Lead Vegas to Victory while Blandford’s Slam Helps Ports Prevail

Center fielder Brayan Buelvas had a big night to lead Las Vegas to its third straight victory over El Paso on Friday. The 24-year-old Colombian outfielder slugged a solo shot in the 4^th inning and then hit a three-run homer in the 6^th, and he’s now 5 for 12 with 3 extra-base hits over his last 3 games for the Aviators. Right fielder Jack Winkler slugged a grand slam in the 3^rd inning and also singled in a run, while catcher Brian Serven tagged a two-run homer in the 4^th, singled, walked and scored twice. Left fielder Michael Stefanic singled, doubled, drew a pair of walks and drove in a run, and third baseman Jonathan Ornelas, who was just signed to a minor league deal after being released by the Yankees, went 2 for 5 with a double and scored twice in his first game for Las Vegas. Starter Ryan Magdic gave up 2 runs over 4 2/3 frames in his Triple-A debut, while RHP Nick Hernandez allowed 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the victory for the Aviators.
