Solid pitching helped the Ports pick up their fourth straight victory on Thursday. Two-way player Shotaro Morii, serving as the opener, allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work. LHP Corey Braun, who was the A’s 8th-round pick last year, then took over and threw 4 1/3 scoreless frames, allowing just 3 hits and a walk while notching 7 strikeouts to pick up the win, and the 23-year-old southpaw has now notched 53 strikeouts in 46 1/3 innings of work this season. RHP Cole Miller closed out the victory by tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to secure the save for Stockton. Shortstop Edgar Montero tripled and scored a run, while second baseman Max Durrington went 2 for 4 and drove in the tying run. Third baseman Michael Brooks singled twice and scored a run, and right fielder Gavin Turley singled, drew a walk and drove in a pair for the Ports.
