Stockton suffered its second straight loss to Modesto in the only game played by an A’s affiliate on Wednesday. 21-year-old Venezuelan RHP Daniel Palencia made the start and gave up 3 runs over 3 innings to take the loss, while tandem starter Daniel Martinez allowed 2 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work for Stockton. Center fielder Junior Perez notched a single and an RBI double to provide the Ports with their first run of the game and their only extra-base hit of the night, while designated hitter T.J. Schofield-Sam singled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run for Stockton in the loss.
