RHP Jack Cushing turned in an outstanding start in his Lansing debut to lead the Lugnuts to victory on Friday. The A’s 22^nd-round draft pick in 2019 notched 43 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings and posted 2.88 ERA for Stockton before being promoted to Lansing earlier in the week. And on Friday, Cushing continued to be on point, allowing just one base runner through the first 5 frames, and he ended up permitting 1 run on just 3 hits while striking out 6 over 6 innings of work to earn the win for the Lugnuts. Right fielder Lester Madden homered, doubled and drove in 4 runs, while catcher Drew Millas homered, drove in 3 runs, drew a walk and stole a base, and center fielder Michael Guldberg tripled, walked twice, scored twice and stole a base for Lansing.
