Las Vegas notched a one-run victory over Albuquerque on Tuesday to win its third straight. RHP Daulton Jefferies turned in another strong start, allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits while walking none and striking out 6 over 6 innings of work to earn the win for the Aviators. And Jefferies has now allowed just 3 runs while striking out 13 without issuing a walk over 19 2/3 innings for Las Vegas this season. LHP A.J. Puk allowed 2 home runs and struck out 4 in 2 innings of relief, while RHP Domingo Acevedo tossed a scoreless 9th to tally his team-leading 5th save for the Aviators. Designated hitter Austin Allen singled twice and homered for the third straight game, while first baseman Frank Schwindel hit his third home run in his last two games, and catcher Francisco Pena hit his second home run in his last three games for Las Vegas. Meanwhile, RHP Parker Dunshee and infielder Mikey White both landed on the injured list on Tuesday. Dunshee will have thoracic outlet surgery and is likely out for the season, while White recently fractured his finger. Midland outfielder Mickey McDonald was reassigned to the Aviators, and Oakland LHP Reymin Guduan, who was rehabbing at Las Vegas, was designated for assignment by the A’s on Tuesday.

After winning seven straight, the RockHounds recorded their third straight loss on Tuesday. Starter Ty Damron returned to action for the first time in 16 days and gave up 2 runs in just 1 inning of work, while tandem starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 2 runs over 4 frames to suffer the loss. Third baseman Logan Davidson singled twice and drove in a run, and the 23-year-old is now hitting .450 with 8 RBIs over his last 5 games for Midland. Meanwhile, outfielder Mickey McDonald was promoted to Las Vegas, while outfielder Jake Suddleson was reassigned from Lansing to Midland, and RockHounds outfielder Tyler Ramirez decided to retire. Catcher JJ Schwarz returned from the injured list, and shortstop Nick Allen was reinstated from the temporarily inactive list after competing with the US Olympic Team.

The Lugnuts shut out the Whitecaps on just six hits on Tuesday. Starter Rafael Kelly returned to the mound for the first time in 14 days and struck out 4 while throwing 5 shutout frames for Lansing. Tandem starter Brady Basso threw 3 scoreless innings to earn the win, while RHP Jack Weisenburger pitched a perfect 9th to complete the shutout and notch his team-leading 4th save for the Lugnuts. First baseman Jordan Diaz singled twice, doubled and drove in a run, while center fielder Lazaro Armenteros had a pair of hits for Lansing. Meanwhile, the Lugnuts lost one of their top hitters when outfielder Jake Suddleson was reassigned to the RockHounds on Tuesday.

 

LOW-A WEST LEAGUE

Stockton suffered its fourth straight loss on Tuesday. Starter David Leal allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work to take the loss. Catcher Tyler Soderstrom singled, doubled and drove in 2 runs, while center fielder Brayan Buelvas doubled, drew a walk and scored a run, and designated hitter Kevin Richards walked and singled in a pair of runs for the Ports.

  1. Any chance Soderstrom will be traded for Trevor Story? He’s one of the few players the A’s have of any value according to Baseball Trade Values.

    1. Wouldn’t hold my breath on that one. Soderstrom’s one they’re probably going to hang on to.
