The RockHounds registered the win in their home opener on Tuesday, and shortstop Nick Allen was right in the middle of all the action. The 22-year-old infielder collected 3 hits, including a double, drove in a pair of runs, scored twice and stole a base to lead the attack for Midland. Center fielder Jhonny Santos had a pair of doubles, while left fielder Chase Calabuig singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds. RHP Brady Feigl turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run and striking out 5 over 5 frames to record the win, while relievers Jesus Zambrano, Eric Marinez, Zack Erwin and Zach Jackson each contributed a scoreless inning in relief for the RockHounds.

Las Vegas secured its fourth straight victory over Sacramento in the final match of their six-game series on Tuesday. Though he long ago graduated from prospect status, right fielder Chad Pinder had a big night in his second rehab game with the Aviators. Pinder homered in the 1st inning to put Las Vegas on the board and also singled twice, drew a walk and scored twice in the game. Center fielder Skye Bolt singled and homered, while left fielder Luis Barrera singled twice and drew a walk. Third baseman Edwin Diaz drilled a three-run homer in the 5th inning to give Las Vegas the lead, and second baseman Jacob Wilson hit his 4th home run of the season to tie him for the league lead. RHP Matt Milburn stepped in for scheduled starter James Kaprielian, who’s now set to make the start for Oakland on Wednesday, and had a rough outing, allowing 6 runs on 6 hits, including 4 home runs, in just 2 innings of work. LHP A.J. Puk allowed 2 hits but struck out the side in a scoreless 5th inning to earn the victory in his first rehab appearance with Las Vegas. Puk threw 20 pitches on the night, 14 for strikes, while RHP Miguel Romero tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief in his season debut for the Aviators.

It took 10 innings, but Lansing outlasted Dayton to tally its third straight win on Tuesday. Designated hitter Ryan Gridley doubled twice, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored twice, while right fielder Jake Suddleson collected 3 hits, including a pair of doubles. Left fielder Shane Selman singled twice, walked and drove in a run, and shortstop Max Schuemann tagged a two-run homer and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly for Lansing. RHP Rafael Kelly turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 over 5 frames, while LHP Dalton Sawyer surrendered 2 runs in 1 inning of relief to tie the game, and RHP Aiden McIntyre tossed 2 scoreless innings to earn the win for the Lugnuts.

The Ports mustered just 2 hits on Tuesday to fall for the fourth time in their last five games. Starting pitcher Osvaldo Berrios allowed 2 runs over 4 frames, while tandem starter David Leal gave up 2 runs but struck out 7 in 3 innings of work on Tuesday. Left fielder Brayan Buelvas drew a pair of walks and drilled a home run to account for Stockton’s sole run in the loss. Ports batters compiled 19 strikeouts on the night, 3 by shortstop Robert Puason and 4 apiece by first baseman Lawrence Butler and designated hitter Lazaro Armenteros.
