Pitcher Jared Koenig

(5 IP / 1 H / 0 ER / 2 BB / 1 K / Win)

The RockHounds recorded their second straight win over San Antonio on Wednesday thanks, in large part, to an impressive outing by LHP Jared Koenig. The 27-year-old northern California native, who spent the past few years pitching in various independent leagues before signing with the A’s, allowed just 1 hit while twirling 5 scoreless frames to earn the win for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, tandem starter Ty Damron was charged with 2 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work on Wednesday. Right fielder Mickey McDonald collected 3 hits and a walk, swiped a pair of bases and scored 4 runs, while third baseman Logan Davidson singled, doubled, drew 2 walks and drove in a pair, and shortstop Nick Allen had 3 hits, walked, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

LHP Brady Basso turned in his second straight solid start, striking out 5 over 3 scoreless frames, while RHP Bryce Nightengale tossed 2 scoreless innings to pick up the win, and RHP Michael Danielak contributed 3 shutout innings in relief for the Lugnuts. Meanwhile, Lansing RHP Jeff Criswell, last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, was placed on the injured list after making just one start this season, and RHP Brandon Withers was added to the Lugnuts roster on Wednesday.

LOW-A WEST LEAGUE

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Dominican shortstop Robert Puason went 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts and is now 1 for 21 with 15 strikeouts on the young season. Starting pitcher Jose Dicochea allowed 2 runs in 3 1/3 innings of work, while tandem starter Daniel Martinez was charged with 2 unearned runs over 3 2/3 innings to pick up the win, and RHP Brock Whittlesey tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to secure the save for Stockton.
