Prospect Of The Game:

Third Baseman Jacob Wilson

(2 for 4 / Home Run / Double / 4 RBIs)

Las Vegas secured its third straight victory over Sacramento on Monday. And, once again, third baseman Jacob Wilson led the way. The 30-year-old infielder, who was signed as a minor league free agent, doubled in a run in the 5th inning and tagged a three-run homer in the 3rd inning for the Aviators. It was Wilson’s third homer of the season and his second in as many days. He’s now tied for the second-most home runs in the league, and his slugging percentage of .850 is good for fourth-best in the league. Center fielder Luis Barrera singled twice, walked and scored 3 runs, while left fielder Greg Deichmann tripled in a run and drew a walk, and Chad Pinder went 0 for 4 while playing shortstop in his first rehab game with the Aviators. RHP Brian Howard turned in a shaky start, surrendering 4 runs on 8 hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. RHP Argenis Angulo threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win but exited the game with the trainer, and RHP Cam Bedrosian tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief for the Aviators. RHP James Kaprielian is set to make the start for Las Vegas in the final match of the six-game series against Sacramento on Tuesday.
