Stockton scored 10 runs to snap its three-game losing streak against Modesto. And second baseman Joshwan Wright drove in half of those runs on Sunday. The 20-year-old Panamanian infielder singled in Stockton’s first run in the 3rd inning, then singled in the tying and go-ahead runs in the 4th inning. And then, after Modesto tied the game in the bottom of the 4th, he singled in a pair of runs, including the go-ahead run, in the top of the 5th. Wright is now hitting .313 through the first week of the season after batting .330 in the Arizona League in 2019. Center fielder Junior Perez had 3 hits, drew a walk and drove in a pair, while third baseman T.J. Schofield-Sam singled and homered, and shortstop Sahid Valenzuela singled, walked and scored twice for the Ports. 21-year-old Cuban RHP Pedro Santos had a rough start for Stockton, surrendering 5 runs on 6 hits and 7 walks in just 2 1/3 innings of work. 24-year-old Cuban RHP Diego Granado allowed 1 run in 2 2/3 innings of relief to earn to win, and RHP Ed Baram got the final five outs for Stockton to secure the save on Sunday.

Las Vegas secured its second straight win over Sacramento on Sunday. Third baseman Jacob Wilson, who was signed as a minor league free agent in the offseason, drew a walk and slugged his 2nd home run of the series, while designated hitter Luis Barrera singled, tripled and scored twice, and first baseman Frank Schwindel singled, walked and scored the winning run in the 6th inning for Las Vegas. Starter Paul Blackburn allowed 3 runs over 5 frames, while RHP James Naile pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Domingo Acevedo tossed 2 scoreless innings to earn the save on Sunday.

The Hounds managed just a pair of hits as they lost the final match of their six-game series at Frisco on Sunday. RHP Zac Reininger turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 over 5 frames, but he ended up suffering his 2nd loss on Sunday. First baseman Jonah Bride belted his 4th home run in his last 3 games to take sole possession of the league home run lead and provide the RockHounds’ only run in the loss.

Lansing’s lineup launched three home runs to secure its second straight win over Lake County on Sunday. Last year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, center fielder Michael Guldberg, after hitting just 3 home runs in his entire college career, singled and slugged his 2nd home run in as many days for Lansing on Sunday. Right fielder Jake Suddleson, who was signed as an undrafted free agent last summer, walked and homered, while left fielder Shane Selman tagged a two-run homer for the Lugnuts. Last year’s 5th-round pick for the A’s, RHP Stevie Emanuels, made the start and was solid in his pro debut, allowing just 1 run and striking out 5 over 4 1/3 frames. RHP Bryce Nightengale pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief to pick up the win, while RHP Jack Weisenburger pitched a perfect 9th to notch the save for the Lugnuts.
