Center fielder Drew Burress had a big night to help the Ports prevail over Ontario on Tuesday. This year’s top draft pick for the A‘s homered to tie the game in the 4th, walked and stole a base in the 5th, and then tripled and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. The 21-year-old outfielder is now hitting .306 with 6 home runs in 17 games for Stockton. Second baseman Michael Brooks tripled in a run, walked and scored a run, while third baseman Roman Martin singled, walked, stole a base and scored a run, and catcher Alex Sosa singled in a run. Starter Alex Barr thew 3 scoreless frames, while RHP Mason Patel tossed 2 scoreless innings to pick up the win, and RHP Kade Brown got the final three outs to secure his 7th save for Stockton.
