LHP Gage Jump turned in an outstanding start for Las Vegas on Wednesday but, unfortunately, the Aviators couldn’t manage to hold on for the win. The 23-year-old southpaw threw 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 4 hits while notching 9 strikeouts without issuing a walk. Jump threw 88 pitches, 61 for strikes, and he’s now notched 15 strikeouts while failing to allow a run over his last 11 innings of work for the Aviators. After Jump’s exit, RHP Luis Morales, working in relief, was charged with 4 runs through 1 1/3 innings, while RHP Wander Suero gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. Second baseman Brett Harris singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored a run, while first baseman Joey Meneses doubled, walked twice and drove in a run, and shortstop Joshua Kuroda-Grauer singled, doubled, stole a base and scored twice for the Aviators.
