CALIFORNIA LEAGUE (SINGLE-A)
Stockton Ports 3
Inland Empire 66ers 1
WP: Dettmer 1-2 / 2.38
RHP Nathan Dettmer turned in an excellent start to lead Stockton to victory on Sunday. The 6-foot-4 righty, who celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, allowed just 3 hits while striking out 3 without issuing a walk through 6 scoreless innings to pick up the win for the Ports. Dettmer threw just 62 pitches, 44 of them for strikes, and his 2.38 ERA is now the second-best in the California League among qualified pitchers. 24-year-old Dominican LHP Brayan Restituyo threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and 23-year-old RHP Jay Dill, who was the A’s 18th-round pick last year, allowed a run in the 9th but still secured the save for Stockton. Shortstop Ali Camarillo singled, doubled and drove in a run, while center fielder Carlos Pacheco singled, stole a base and scored a run, and catcher Logan Sauve singled in a run for Stockton.
