Right fielder Devin Taylor helped lead Stockton to a shutout victory over Visalia in the team’s season finale on Sunday. This year’s 2nd-round pick for the A’s went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double while stealing a base and driving in 4 runs for the Ports. Taylor finished his first pro season by slashing .264/.388/.481 with 6 home runs in 28 games for Stockton. Left fielder Rodney Green singled twice, scored twice and drew a walk, while first baseman Bryan Andrade doubled and drew a walk, and catcher Dylan Fien doubled and drove in a run for the Ports. RHP Samuel Dutton made the start and struck out 5 through 1 2/3 scoreless innings, while LHP Tucker Novotny tossed 4 scoreless frames, and LHP Riley Huge notched the final out in the 9th to complete the five-hit shutout for Stockton. The Ports finished the season with a record of 57-75, while the Lansing Lugnuts, who also played their season finale on Sunday, finished the season with a record of 62-70.
