After losing Friday’s opener and being rained out on Saturday, the Aviators dropped their second straight to the Aces on Sunday. Las Vegas pitchers gave up a total of 15 runs in the loss. Starter Joey Estes surrendered 3 home runs in the friendly confines of the Las Vegas Ballpark and ended up allowing 5 runs in 4 frames to take the loss in his first start of the season. RHP Billy Sullivan was charged with 5 runs, 3 earned, in just 1/3 of an inning, while RHP Gerson Moreno gave up 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning in relief. Catcher Tyler Soderstrom tagged a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to provide the Aviators with their only runs in the loss. Right fielder Max Schuemann singled twice and drew a walk, while center fielder Daz Cameron singled and stole a base, and second baseman Armando Alvarez walked twice and scored a run in the loss. After the team has an off day on Monday, LHP Hogan Harris is set to make the start for Las Vegas when they take on Sugar Land on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the A’s designated Las Vegas RHP Adrian Martinez for assignment on Sunday to make room on the team’s 40-man roster for infielder/outfielder Tyler Nevin, who was claimed off waivers from Baltimore.
