Friday, March 29th: Schuemann Provides Spark but Vegas Drops Opener

Leadoff hitter Max Schuemann provided a spark at the top of the Las Vegas lineup, but the Aviators dropped their season opener to Reno on Friday night. Schuemann singled, walked, stolen a base, drove in a run and scored a run while batting in the leadoff spot, but the Las Vegas lineup mustered just two other hits on the night. Third baseman Brett Harris singled and scored the team’s only other run, while shortstop Max Muncy, making his Triple-A Debut, singled but was left stranded. Opening night starter Aaron Brooks gave up 2 runs over 4 1/3 frames to take the loss, while LHP Jack O’Loughlin allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work, and RHP Vinny Nittoli gave up 1 run in 1 inning of relief for the Aviators.
