Lansing outlasted Great Lakes to win its second straight on Tuesday. Shortstop Max Schuemann reached base 5 times. The 24-year-old infielder singled twice, walked twice, was hit by a pitch, drove in a run, scored a run and swiped 5 bases, and Schuemann now leads the league with a total of 27 stolen bases, while only being caught once. Second baseman Cobie Vance singled, walked twice, stole a base and scored 3 runs, while first baseman Will Simoneit singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice for the Lugnuts. Starting pitcher David Leal allowed 2 runs over 4 1/3 frames in his Lansing debut, while tandem starter Brady Basso was charged with 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings of work. RHP Michael Danielak picked up the win despite giving up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, and RHP Aiden McIntyre pitched a perfect 9th to post his 2nd save for Lansing. Meanwhile, Lugnuts outfielder Lester Madden was placed on the injured list, and Lansing RHP Jack Weisenburger was reassigned to the RockHounds on Tuesday.

Las Vegas lost its third straight to Reno on Tuesday. Starter Brian Howard allowed 8 runs over 3 1/3 innings to suffer the loss, while LHP A.J. Puk gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief for the Aviators. First baseman Frank Schwindel tagged his team-leading 12th home run and drove in 3 runs, while designated hitter Carlos Perez singled, doubled and drove in a run, and right fielder Greg Deichmann singled twice and scored a run in the loss.

The RockHounds recorded their fifth straight loss on Tuesday. Starter Brady Feigl allowed 5 runs over 5 frames to suffer his 2nd loss, while RHP Jack Weisenburger tossed 2 scoreless innings of relief in his Midland debut. Third baseman Jeremy Eierman singled, walked and tagged a two-run homer for the Hounds in the loss.

Stockton suffered its fourth straight loss on Tuesday. 21-year-old Venezuelan RHP Daniel Palencia made his first start for Stockton and allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, in just 2 innings of work to take the loss on Tuesday, while tandem starter Osvaldo Berrios gave up 7 runs in 3 innings of relief for the Ports. 18-year-old shortstop Robert Puason hit his 1st home run, a 408-foot shot to right-center, while right fielder Junior Perez singled twice, walked twice, stole a base and scored a run in the loss.

This Schwindel guy is raking, but as a first baseman with limited defensive ability (and the fact that he’s not a top prospect) I’m figuring we may never see him in Oakland.
I’d imagine probably only as an injury replacement.
