Las Vegas battled back to claim victory over Albuquerque on Sunday. Aviators left fielder Cody Thomas continued his hot hitting of late, tagging a three-run homer in the top of the 2nd inning to give Las Vegas an early lead. Thomas also drew a pair of walks in the game, and he’s now 9 for 20 with 6 extra-base hits and 7 RBIs over his last 6 games for Las Vegas. RHP Grant Holmes had another rocky start, and he was charged with 6 runs, 4 earned, in just 1 2/3 innings of work to squander the Aviators’ early lead. But right fielder Greg Deichmann had another big game, collecting 3 hits, including a double, drawing a walk, driving in a run and scoring 3 times, while center fielder Luis Barrera tripled, walked, drove in a run and stole a base. Designated hitter Nate Mondou doubled in the tying and go ahead runs in the 6th inning, and catcher Austin Allen doubled and scored a run and then added a two-run shot in the 7th. RHP James Naile threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, while RHP Domingo Acevedo pitched a perfect 9th to notch his team-leading 4th save for Las Vegas.

After winning seven straight, the RockHounds suffered their second straight loss to the Hooks on Sunday. Starter Bryce Conley allowed 5 runs over 5 frames to take the loss. Third baseman Jeremy Eierman walked and tripled to provide the Hounds’ only extra-base hit in the loss, while outfielders Mickey McDonald and Chase Calabuig each singled and walked twice, and shortstop Logan Davidson drew a walk and singled in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

Shortstop Max Schuemann singled, doubled, stole a base, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs, while third baseman Cobie Vance singled in a run and drew 3 walks. Designated hitter Drew Millas tripled, drew a walk and drove in a pair, and right fielder Jake Suddleson singled twice and drove in 2 runs for the Lugnuts in the loss.

Stockton suffered its third straight loss to Lake Elsinore on Sunday. Starting pitcher Jose Dicochea was charged with 5 runs in just 1 1/3 innings of work, while tandem starter Kumar Nambiar gave up 3 runs over 4 2/3 frames for the Ports. Center fielder Kevin Richards had 3 hits, walked, stole a base and drove in a run, while third baseman Gavin Jones doubled, drew a pair of walks and drove in a run. Right fielder Danny Bautista singled, walked twice and stole a base, and left fielder Lawrence Butler doubled, drew a walk and drove in a pair for the Ports.
