The Lugnuts handed the Cubs their second straight loss on Saturday. RHP Colin Peluse turned in his second straight strong start for Lansing, allowing just 1 run while striking out 10 over 5 2/3 frames to earn the win for the Lugnuts. And 2019’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s has now notched 26 strikeouts in 22 innings of work for Lansing. Second baseman Elvis Peralta tripled, walked, stole a base, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs, while catcher Drew Millas singled, walked twice and scored a run. Shortstop Max Schuemann singled, walked, swiped a pair of bases and scored twice, third baseman Cobie Vance singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and left fielder Shane Selman slugged a solo shot in the 7th inning to complete the scoring for the Lugnuts on Saturday.

Las Vegas lost for the third time in its last four games on Saturday. Starter Matt Milburn gave up 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of work, while LHP Reymin Guduan tossed 1 scoreless inning in his first rehab appearance, and LHP A.J. Puk allowed 2 runs in 2 innings of relief to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. Catcher Francisco tagged his team-leading 6th home run to tie the game in the 6th inning, while designated hitter Pete Kozma singled, doubled and drew a walk, and left fielder Cody Thomas doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run in the loss.

The RockHounds scored seven runs in the 1st inning but still had their seven-game winning streak snapped on Saturday. LHP Jared Koenig turned in another solid start, throwing 6 shutout innings to lower his ERA to 0.98, and he left the game with a seemingly safe seven-run lead. But LHP Austin Briggs and RHP Nick Highberger combined to surrender 5 runs in the 7th inning, while RHP Montana DuRapau allowed 3 runs in the 8th, and LHP Aaron Brown gave up another 3 runs in the 9th to take the loss for the Hounds. Left fielder Devin Foyle drilled a three-run homer, while third baseman Logan Davidson had a pair of doubles and drove in 2 runs, and first baseman Chase Calabuig drew 4 walks for Midland in the loss. Meanwhile, outfielder Jhonny Santos landed on the injured list for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its second straight loss to Lake Elsinore on Saturday. The Ports managed just a pair of hits on the night, both off the bat of left fielder Danny Bautista. The 20-year-old outfielder singled in the 3rd inning and then slugged a solo shot in the 8th. Starting pitcher Grant Judkins gave up 2 runs over 5 frames to take the loss, while tandem starter Pedro Santos allowed 1 run in 2 2/3 innings of work for Stockton.
