RHP Zane Taylor led Lansing to a six-hit shutout victory over Dayton on Friday. Last year’s 5th-round draft pick for the A’s allowed 4 hits and a walk while striking out 3 through 5 2/3 scoreless frames to earn the win for Lansing. Taylor has allowed just 4 earned runs in 24 innings of work this season, and his 1.50 ERA is good for third-best among qualified pitchers in the Midwest League. RHP Ryan Brown gave up 2 hits in 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, while LHP Jack Mahoney and LHP Ryan Magdic each pitched a perfect frame to close out the shutout for Lansing. Third baseman Ali Camarillo slugged a grand slam in the 2nd inning, while catcher Davis Diaz went 3 for 4 with a double, drew a walk and drove in a run. Left fielder Devin Taylor singled twice, walked twice and drove in a run, and designated hitter Gunner Gouldsmith had a pair of hits, drew a walk, stole a base, scored twice and drove in a run for the Lugnuts.
