For the second straight night, Stockton bested Lake Elsinore in a walk-off in extra innings. The most impressive performance of the night came courtesy of LHP Jackson Phipps, last year’s 16th-round pick for the A’s. The 24-year-old southpaw entered the game with Stockton down by five runs and threw 5 scoreless and hitless frames in relief to give the Ports the chance to battle back and tie the game. LHP Grant Richardson made the start and gave up 5 runs, 4 earned, in 2 innings of work, while LHP Griffin Kirn allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, in 2 innings of work to pick up the win for the Ports. Third baseman Daniel Bucciero tripled and singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th, while shortstop Ali Camarillo tripled, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored twice for Stockton.
