Saturday, May 27th: Bolte Leads the Way as Ports Prevail while Muller Drops Vegas Debut

Center fielder Henry Bolte led the way as Stockton secured its fifth win in its last six games on Saturday. Last year’s 2^nd-round draft pick for the A’s hit a three-run homer in the top of the 1^st inning to give Stockton an early lead that it would never surrender. Bolte drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the 2^nd and drew a walk but was left stranded in the 7^th. And the 19-year-old outfielder has gone 9 for 22 with 8 RBIs over his last 6 games and now leads the team with 24 RBIs in just 28 games while putting up a .287/.392/.446 slash line for the Ports. Last year’s 3^rd-round pick, left fielder Colby Thomas, homered in the 4^th inning, and 21-year-old Venezuelan second baseman Jose Escorche slugged a solo shot for Stockton in the 6^th. Starter Dheygler Gimenez allowed just 1 hit and 1 run and notched 7 strikeouts but issued 8 walks in 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Carlos Guarate tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Blaze Pontes pitched 2 perfect frames in the 8^th and 9^th to post his 4^th save for the Ports.
