Despite the best efforts of RHP Colin Peluse and DH Tyler Soderstrom, Las Vegas suffered a one-run loss to see its five-game winning streak snapped on Thursday. The 24-year-old Peluse allowed just 2 hits and struck out 5 while throwing 5 scoreless frames, and he left the game with a one-run lead. After looking a little shaky in his first start of the season, Peluse has now compiled a 2.57 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 14 innings over his last 3 appearances for the Aviators. A’s RHP Domingo Acevedo came on in the 6th to throw a scoreless inning of relief in his first rehab appearance for Las Vegas, while RHP Austin Pruitt followed with a scoreless frame in the 7th. But RHP Billy Sullivan walked a pair of batters in the bottom of the 8th before LHP Garrett Williams surrendered a two-run single to hand over the lead and was charged a blown save, while Sullivan was tagged with the loss. Designated hitter Tyler Soderstrom singled in the 7th and slugged a solo shot in the 5th to provide the Aviators’ only run, and he’s now 5 for 14 with 2 home runs and a triple over his last 3 games for Las Vegas. First baseman Kevin Cron singled but was left stranded in the 2nd to account for the team’s only other hit in the loss.
