Catcher Tyler Soderstrom and shortstop Nick Allen helped lead Las Vegas to its fourth straight victory on Tuesday. Soderstrom, the A’s top draft pick in 2020, collected 3 hits, including a two-run homer in the top of the 5th inning and a triple to lead off the 9th, and drove in 3 runs on the night, and the 21-year-old prospect is now hitting an even .300 with a slugging percentage of .620. Shortstop and leadoff hitter Nick Allen made things happen at the top of the Las Vegas lineup, slugging a solo shot in the 6th inning to bring the Aviators back within a run while also drawing 3 walks and scoring 3 runs in the win. Right fielder Trenton Brooks singled, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a run, while first baseman Dermis Garcia singled and doubled. Center fielder JJ Bleday singled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and second baseman Zack Gelof was hit by a pitch and singled in the tying and winning runs with two outs in the top of the 8th for the Aviators. A’s RHP Drew Rucinski allowed 7 runs, 5 earned, on 4 hits and 3 walks with 2 strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of work in his second rehab start for Las Vegas. RHP Norge Ruiz tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, while RHP Garrett Acton notched 3 strikeouts over 1 1/3 perfect innings to pick up the win, and LHP Garrett Williams got the final four outs for the Aviators to secure his 2nd save. With A’s RHP Dany Jimenez landing on the injured list, Oakland recalled RHP Adam Oller on Tuesday, and the A’s confirmed that RHP Mason Miller and infielder Jordan Diaz are both set to join Oakland on Wednesday.
