Designated hitter Cody Thomas put on a show by hitting for the cycle as Las Vegas dropped its opener in Reno on Friday. The 28-year-old homered in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and drove in 4 runs in the game. Third baseman Jonah Bride also had a big day, collecting 3 hits, including a double, drawing a walk and driving in a run, while second baseman Jordan Diaz singled, doubled, walked and drove in a run. Catcher Tyler Soderstrom had a pair of hits, including a double, drew a walk and scored 3 runs, and first baseman Dermis Garcia tagged a two-run homer in the loss. RHP Colin Peluse had a rough start, surrendering 5 runs on 8 hits in 3 innings of work, while RHP Garrett Acton gave up 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief to suffer the loss for Las Vegas.
