The Ports shut out the Nuts on seven hits on Saturday to notch their sixth win in their last seven games. RHP Mitch Myers, last year’s 12th-round draft pick for the A’s, made the start and threw 6 1/3 shutout innings, but he left with the game a scoreless tie. And the 23-year-old has now allowed just 1 earned run in 12 1/3 innings over his last 2 starts for Stockton. LHP Jack Owen tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to complete the shutout and earn his 2nd win. First baseman Nick Brueser and left fielder Kevin Richards each tagged a two-run homer, while designated hitter Robert Puason picked up a pair of hits for the Ports.
