The Aviators aced out the Aces in extra innings on Friday. And center fielder Cody Thomas turned in the most impressive single-game offensive performance of any A’s minor leaguer so far this season. The 26-year-old collected 4 extra-base hits, hitting a pair of home runs, tripling, and doubling in a pair of runs in the top of the 10th to provide the margin of victory for Las Vegas. Thomas also drew a walk, scored 3 times and drove in 4 runs on the night, and his .695 slugging percentage is now tops in the league among players with at least 100 at-bats. Designated hitter Carlos Perez and catcher Austin Allen both homered, while second baseman Nate Mondou had 3 hits, walked twice and drove in a run, and shortstop Pete Kozma singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run for Las Vegas. Starter Daulton Jefferies allowed 3 runs and struck out 7 over 6 innings of work, while RHP Domingo Acevedo gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings but still picked up the win after the Aviators took the lead in the top of the 10th, and RHP Zach Jackson tossed a 1-2-3 10th to notch the save for Las Vegas.
