Lawrence Butler’s big bat helped Stockton secure its second straight victory over Visalia on Friday. The 20-year-old first baseman entered the game batting just .132, but he broke out of his funk in a big way on Friday. 2018’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s homered in the 1st inning and again in the 9th inning, doubled, drew a walk and drove in 3 runs on the night. Last year’s top draft pick for the A’s, catcher Tyler Soderstrom, singled, doubled twice and drove in a run, while right fielder Danny Bautista singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a pair for the Ports. RHP Jake Walkinshaw turned in a strong start for Stockton, throwing 6 scoreless innings to earn the win, while RHP Dallas Woolfolk got the final four outs for the Ports to pick up the save.

The Aviators pushed 12 runs across the plate on Friday on their way to notching their fourth victory in their last five games. Buddy Reed had a big night for Las Vegas. The right fielder doubled twice, singled, drew a walk and drove in a pair, while first baseman Frank Schwindel had 3 hits, walked and drove in 2 runs, and center fielder Skye Bolt singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a pair. RHP Paul Blackburn delivered a solid start for Las Vegas, allowing 2 runs on just 2 hits over 6 innings of work, while RHP Brian Schlitter picked up the victory despite giving up 3 runs in 1 inning of relief for the Aviators.

The RockHounds secured their second straight win over the Sod Poodles on Friday. RHP Zac Reininger turned in an outstanding start, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 8 to earn the win, while RHP Zach Jackson tossed a scoreless 9th to notch his 3rd save for Midland. Second baseman Nick Allen drew a walk and doubled with the bases loaded to drive in 3 runs, while center fielder Jhonny Santos singled twice, walked and stole a base, and right fielder Devin Foyle and left fielder Chase Calabuig had a pair of hits apiece and each drove in a run for the RockHounds.

The Lugnuts took their second straight from the TinCaps on Friday. RHP Reid Birlingmair delivered an impressive start, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 5 over 6 scoreless innings to earn the win for Lansing. Right fielder Jake Suddleson singled, homered and drove in 3 runs on the night, while third baseman Cobie Vance singled twice, walked and drove in a run. Catcher Drew Millas doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and shortstop Max Schuemann singled twice and notched his 11th stolen base of the season.
