After going just 2 for 15 while playing sporadically over the first couple weeks of the season, Midland right fielder Devin Foyle turned in one of the best single-game performances of any A’s minor league hitter so far this season on Thursday. 2018’s 17th-round draft pick for the A’s hit a 3-run homer in the 2nd inning, slugged a solo shot in the 4th, and then tripled in a pair of runs in the 6th to account for all but one of the RockHounds’ runs on the night. Meanwhile, first baseman Jonah Bride belted his 5th home run to tie him for the league lead. RHP Bryce Conley turned in a strong start, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits over 5 frames to record the win as the RockHounds snapped their four-game losing streak on Thursday.
