Midland shut out Tulsa on 5 hits on Sunday. RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in an outstanding start, throwing 7 shutout innings to record his 4th win for the RockHounds. And Friedrichs has now failed to allow a run over his last 13 innings of work for Midland. RHP Jesus Zambrano tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to secure his 2nd save for the Hounds. Second baseman Nate Mondou had 3 hits and drove in a run, while designated hitter Taylor Motter doubled and scored a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Paul Blackburn had a rough start on Sunday, allowing 5 runs over 5 frames to suffer the loss for Las Vegas. Left fielder Dustin Fowler singled and also homered for the second straight day, hitting his 19th home run to tie him with Seth Brown for the team lead. Center fielder Skye Bolt doubled for the Aviators’ only other extra-base hit in the loss. Meanwhile, catcher Jonah Heim landed on the disabled list with a right hamstring injury.

Stockton suffered its third straight loss on Sunday. Starter Xavier Altamirano was charged with 6 runs, 5 earned, over 5 frames to take the loss. Third baseman Jonah Bride homered, while first baseman Alfonso Rivas singled twice, walked and scored a run. Designated hitter Nick Hundley went 1 for 5 in his fourth rehab game with Stockton, and catcher Jordan Devencenzi had a pair of hits for the Ports.

Beloit notched a one-run win over South Bend in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. Catcher John Jones had a pair of hits, drew a walk and drove in the tying run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Right fielder Nick Osborne drew a walk and drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly as the Snappers won in a walk-off. Starter Joe DeMers allowed 2 runs in 3 innings of work, while RHP Calvin Coker threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for the Snappers.

The Snappers suffered the loss in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. Starter Bryce Nightengale was charged with 3 runs, 2 earned, after issuing 4 walks and notching just one out before exiting in the 1st inning on Sunday. After allowing 27 earned runs over his last 16 innings of work, RHP Aiden McIntyre was solid in relief for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs while striking out 6 over 5 frames. Shortstop Max Schuemann singled twice and scored the Snappers’ sole run in the loss.

This year’s 32nd-round draft pick for the A’s, right fielder Marty Bechina, hit a two-run homer in the 4th inning to provide the winning run for Vermont on Sunday. 19-year-old Dominican center fielder Kevin Richards doubled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run for the Lake Monsters. This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Tyler Baum, made the start and was charged with 2 unearned runs in 3 innings of work, while this year’s 9th-round draft pick, RHP Colin Peluse, allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to pick up the win, and 23-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado threw 3 scoreless innings to secure the save for Vermont.

18-year-old Panamanian third baseman Joshwan Wright collected 4 hits and drove in a pair of runs, while 22-year-old Venezuelan center fielder Yhoelnys Gonzalez singled, tripled, walked twice and swiped a pair of bases, and this year’s 26th-round draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Elvis Peralta, singled, doubled, drew a pair of walks and stole a base for the A’s. This year’s 8th-round draft pick, RHP Jose Dicochea, made the start and gave up 3 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Brock Whittlesey picked up the win after allowing 1 run in 2 innings of relief for the A’s on Sunday.
