Lazaro Armenteros had a big night at the plate to help the Ports prevail for the seventh time in their last eight games on Friday. The left fielder had 3 hits, including a triple and his team-leading 10th home run, a three-run shot in the 1st inning that would give Stockton a lead it would never surrender on Friday. First baseman Hunter Hargrove slugged a three-run homer of his own in the 7th, while center fielder Mickey McDonald tripled and singled for Stockton. Starter Xavier Altamirano threw 4 scoreless frames, while LHP Will Gilbert picked up the win despite giving up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief for Stockton. In other news, LHPs A.J. Puk and Jesus Luzardo have joined the Ports and both should be making appearances for the team by sometime next week.

While his control might not have been sharp, LHP Tyler Alexander turned in a strong start to earn his 2nd victory for Vegas on Friday. Alexander allowed 1 run on just 2 hits but walked 5 while striking out 9 over 6 innings of work for the Aviators. RHP Brian Schlitter gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief to tally his team-leading 10th save for Las Vegas. Center fielder Dustin Fowler had 3 hits, including a double, while third baseman Eric Campbell singled and slugged a solo shot. First baseman Seth Brown hit his team-best 15th home run, a two-run shot, while catcher Beau Taylor belted a three-run blast, and second baseman Franklin Barreto homered for the second straight night, slugging a two-run shot in the 6th, and Barreto has now clubbed 5 home runs in his last 5 games for Las Vegas. Meanwhile, RHP Kyle Finnegan was reassigned from the RockHounds to the Aviators on Friday.

Luis Barrera helped the RockHounds record their fourth straight win on Friday. The right fielder had 3 hits, including 2 triples to give him 7 on the season and tie him with teammate Dairon Blanco for the league lead. Barrera scored 3 runs in the game, including the winning run in the bottom of the 9th after he tripled with two outs as the Hounds won in a walk-off. First baseman Mikey White singled twice, drew a walk and drove in a pair of runs, including the winning run in the 9th for the RockHounds. Starter Daulton Jefferies allowed 1 run and struck out 6 over 3 2/3 innings of work, while his tandem-pitching partner, RHP Grant Holmes, gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief, and LHP Cody Stull pitched 2 perfect innings to pick up the win for Midland.

The Snappers prevailed in the completion of a suspended game on Friday. Third baseman Cobie Vance homered, doubled twice and drove in 3 runs, including the winning run in the bottom of the 9th as Beloit won in a walk-off. Starter Bryce Conley was charged with 2 runs over 4 frames, while RHP Michael Murray threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Eric Marinez picked up the win despite giving up the tying run in the top of the 9th for the Snappers.

The Snappers were shut out on just five hits in Friday’s second game. Left fielder Max Schuemann doubled for Beloit’s only extra-base hit, while RHP Reid Birlingmair allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for the Snappers.
