Austin Beck had a big night at the plate to help the Ports prevail in the opener of their four-game series with Lancaster on Thursday. The right fielder singled, doubled, drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning and tagged a two-run homer in Stockton’s big five-run 9th. And Beck has now gone 11 for 19 over his last 5 games to raise his batting average from .212 up to .253. Second baseman Nick Allen had 3 hits and drove in the tying run in the top of the 9th, while center fielder Jameson Hannah singled twice and drove in the winning run for Stockton. Starter Mitchell Jordan allowed 5 runs over 6 innings of work, while LHP Will Gilbert tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and RHP Jake Bray got the final three outs in the 9th to secure his 2nd save for Stockton.

Designated hitter Seth Brown led Las Vegas to its fourth straight victory on Thursday. Brown collected 3 hits, including his team-leading 12th home run, and drove in 3 runs for the Aviators. Center fielder Dustin Fowler singled and slugged a two-run homer, while third baseman Sheldon Neuse singled, doubled and drove in a pair. Starter Parker Dunshee turned in a solid start, allowing just 1 unearned run over 5 frames to earn the victory for Las Vegas.

Midland suffered a one-run loss to Corpus Christi on Thursday. Starter James Naile allowed 3 runs over 5 1/3 frames, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill gave up the winning run in the top of the 9th to take the loss. First baseman Mikey White homered in the 1st inning to give the Hounds an early lead, while second baseman Brallan Perez had a pair of hits, including a triple, and shortstop Kevin Merrell singled in a run for the RockHounds.

The Snappers had their three-game winning streak snapped on Thursday. Starter Aiden McIntyre allowed 3 runs over 4 frames to suffer the loss, while LHP Ty Damron threw 3 scoreless innings in relief in his season debut for the Snappers. Center fielder Lester Madden singled, doubled and drove in a run, while second baseman Joseph Pena drew 3 walks, singled and stole a base, and left fielder Devin Foyle doubled and drew a walk in the loss.
