After going 0 for his last 14, right fielder Greg Deichmann bounced back big in Tuesday’s game by belting a pair of home runs to help the Hounds claim their third victory against the Naturals in the final game on their four-game series. Deichmann hit his first homer of the game, a solo shot, in the 5th inning and then, with the game tied in the top of the 9th, Deichmann drilled a two-run drive to provide the margin of victory for Midland. Shortstop Kevin Merrell had a pair of hits, including an RBI double, and drew a walk, while first baseman Anthony Miller singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Matt Milburn was charged with 3 runs over 6 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win.

RHP Daniel Mengden turned in another strong start for the Aviators on Tuesday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work, and he’s now given up just 4 earned runs in 22 frames over his last 4 starts for Las Vegas. RHP Tanner Anderson, who’s moved to the bullpen with Edwin Jackson’s addition to the rotation, replaced Mengden on the mound with the game tied 1-1 and was solid in relief, throwing 3 scoreless innings to earn the victory for Vegas. Catcher Beau Taylor singled, scored twice and drew a pair of walks to lift his team-best on-base percentage to .474, while second Corban Joseph had a pair of hits, including a game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the 6th. Shortstop Jorge Mateo singled and notched his league-leading 11th stolen base, and left fielder Seth Brown singled in the winning run in the 8th for the Aviators. And with first baseman Matt Olson returning to action for the A’s on Tuesday, outfielder Skye Bolt was sent back to Las Vegas.

Lancaster’s late-inning comeback led to a walk-off loss for Stockton on Tuesday. Starter Mitchell Jordan gave up 3 runs over 6 innings of work and left the game with a three-run lead. RHP Peter Bayer threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP Nick Highberger allowed 4 runs, just 1 earned, with the help of an error by right fielder Jameson Hannah, in the bottom of the 9th to suffer the loss for Stockton. First baseman Alfonso Rivas singled, doubled and homered, while center fielder Austin Beck collected 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run. Second baseman Jeremy Eierman drew a walk and singled in a run, and third baseman Jonah Bride and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

The Snappers were shut out on just four hits on Tuesday. Last year’s 22nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Aiden McIntyre, turned in a solid start, allowing just 1 run while striking out 8 over 5 frames, but he still ended up taking the loss for the Snappers. RHPs Michael Danielak and Charlie Cerny each tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, while catcher Skyler Weber, center fielder Lester Madden and left fielder Anthony Churlin all singled, and designated hitter John Jones doubled for Beloit’s only extra-base hit in the loss.
