Left fielder Tyler Ramirez helped the RockHounds win in extra innings on Wednesday. Ramirez singled twice in the game and hit a key two-run homer to tie things up in the top of 8th inning. He also drove in another run in extra innings and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th for Midland. First baseman Seth Brown homered, doubled and drove in 3 runs to raise his team-ledaing RBI total to 65, while shortstop Richie Martin collected 4 hits, including a double, stole 2 bases and drove in a pair, and catcher Jonah Heim had 3 hits and a walk and drove in a run for the RockHounds. LHP Jesus Luzardo turned in another solid start, allowing 1 run on just 3 hits over 5 frames and left the game with a one-run lead, and the 20-year-old has now allowed just 1 earned run in his last 38 innings of work for Midland. But RHP John Gorman gave up 3 runs in 1 inning of relief. RHP Corey Walter tossed 2 scoreless innings, and RHP Nolan Blackwood picked up the win despite allowing an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th for the RockHounds.

The Sounds suffered an extra-inning loss to snap their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. Center fielder and leadoff hitter Ramon Laureano had another big night at the plate, collecting 3 hits, including a home run and a double, drawing a walk, stealing a base and scoring all 3 of the Sounds’ runs. The 24-year-old is 7 for 9 with 2 home runs in Nashville’s last 2 games, and his 11 home runs and 9 stolen bases are both good for second best on the team. RHP Daniel Mengden delivered his second straight quality start for the Sounds, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, on 3 hits over 7 innings of work, but RHP Josh Lucas gave up a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as Las Vegas won in a walk-off. Former Sounds reliever Bobby Wahl picked up the win for the 51s on Wednesday.

Stockton suffered its third straight loss on Wednesday. Starter Xavier Altamirano gave up 9 runs over 4 2/3 frames, and RHP Trey Cochran-Gill gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss as Modesto won in a walk-off. First baseman Sandber Pimentel doubled in a pair of runs, including the tying run, in the top of the 9th, while shortstop Edwin Diaz, left fielder Luke Persico and center fielder Chase Calabuig each had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Ports.

The Snappers were shut out on just two hits to suffer their third straight loss on Wednesday. Starter Ivan Andueza allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 5 1/3 frames to take his 7th loss for the Snappers. Center fielder Austin Beck and designated hitter Logan Farrar both singled for Beloit’s only hits in the loss.

The Lake Monsters lost their fifth straight on Wednesday. 19-year-old Panamanian RHP Abdiel Mendoza made the start and threw 3 scoreless innings, but this year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Chase Cohen, was charged with 7 runs in just 2/3 of an inning of relief to suffer the loss. This year’s third overall pick for the A’s, shortstop Jeremy Eierman, singled twice and drew a walk, while 12th-round right fielder Noah Vaughan doubled for Vermont’s only extra-base hit in the loss.

Last year’s 20th-round draft pick for the A’s, 18-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios, made the start and allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 4 frames to take the loss. 18-year-old Dominican left fielder George Bell singled for the A’s only hit in the loss.
