San Jose Giants   5

LP: Manarino 1-1 / 3.86

Prospect Of The Game:

Outfielder Dairon Blanco

(2 for 4 / Triple / Double / RBI)

On a day in which no A’s affiliate notched a win, Stockton right fielder Dairon Blanco turned in one of the best performances down on the farm. The 25-year-old Cuban speedster tripled, doubled and drove in a run to extend his hitting streak to 10 games, and Blanco is now batting .415 over his last 10 games while also maintaining the team lead in hits, triples and stolen bases. Left fielder Luke Persico doubled, while second baseman Nate Mondou drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and shortstop Brallan Perez had a pair of hits for the Ports. Starter Evan Manarino allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 6 innings of work to suffer the loss as Stockton snapped its five-game winning streak on Monday. In other news, RHP Xavier Altamirano was named the California League Pitcher of the Week after tossing 7 shutout innings in his first start for Stockton on Sunday. And with shortstop Kevin Merrell nursing a sore hamstring, infielder Jesus Lage was promoted to the Ports on Monday.
