The RockHounds won on Sunday to split their four-game home series with San Antonio and remain tied for first place in the Texas League South Division. Second baseman J.P. Sportman, who was recently moved into the leadoff spot, had a big day at the plate, collecting 3 hits, including a triple and a double, while scoring twice and driving in 2 runs for the RockHounds. Catcher Sean Murphy and left fielder Brett Vertigan each contributed 3 hits to the cause, while shortstop Eli White singled, tripled and drove in a run, and third baseman Mikey White hit his 3rd home run for the Hounds. Midland starter Joel Seddon was charged with 5 runs over 7 innings of work to earn his 2nd win, while RHP Jake Sanchez tossed a scoreless 9th to notch his 3rd save for the RockHounds.

The Sounds lost their third straight on Sunday to fall one game below .500. Second baseman Franklin Barreto had a big day, collecting 3 hits while slugging his 2nd home run of the season. Starter Frankie Montas had his longest outing since 2015, allowing 2 runs over 5 1/3 frames to suffer the loss, while RHP Bobby Wahl surrendered his first runs of the season, giving up 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief for the Sounds.

Stockton lost its second straight on Sunday to fall from a first-place tie all the way down to third place in the California League North Division. RHP Brendan Butler made his first start of the season for Stockton and was charged with 4 runs in 3 1/3 innings of work to suffer the loss, but RHP Jake Bray was outstanding in relief, throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings. 25-year-old Cuban left fielder Dairon Blanco reached base four times, singling twice and drawing a pair of walks for the Ports.

Beloit lost its third straight as the LumberKings completed their three-game sweep of the Snappers on Sunday. Beloit batters managed just one run on five hits in the loss. Second baseman Trace Loehr collected a pair of hits, while shortstop Nick Allen, center fielder Mickey McDonald and catcher Jordan Devencenzi each singled for the Snappers. Starter Wyatt Marks surrendered 3 runs over 4 innings of work to suffer the loss, while RHP Jean Ruiz came in out of the bullpen and allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, on just 2 hits over 4 innings of relief for Beloit.
