Las Vegas battled back to notch the win over Iowa on Wednesday. Center fielder Skye Bolt belted a two-run blast in the Aviators’ three-run 9th to provide what would prove to be the winning run for Las Vegas. Second baseman Corban Joseph collected 3 hits and drove in a pair of runs, while third baseman Eric Campbell doubled twice and drove in a run. Designated hitter Sheldon Neuse slugged his 22nd home run, and left fielder Mark Payton singled, doubled and drove in a run for Las Vegas. RHP Brian Howard suffered his third straight rough start for Las Vegas, allowing 5 runs in just 2 2/3 innings of work, while LHP A.J. Puk struck out the side in order in the 7th inning, throwing just 13 pitches, 9 for strikes. LHP Kyle Lobstein picked up the win despite giving up 1 run in the bottom of the 9th, and RHP Kyle Finnegan got the final two outs to secure the save for Las Vegas.
