The Aviators notched their fifth victory in the last six games on Friday. Designated hitter Nick Martini had another big night at the plate, contributing a single, a double and a two-run homer, and the 29-year-old is now batting .327 on the season and is 6 for 12 with 4 extra-base hits over his last 3 games for Las Vegas. Second baseman Corban Joseph collected 4 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while first baseman Eric Campbell singled twice, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a pair. Catcher Beau Taylor singled, walked and homered, while shortstop Jorge Mateo had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, and right fielder Skye Bolt and third baseman Sheldon Neuse each singled, homered and drove in 3 runs for the Aviators. RHP James Naile turned in a strong start in his return to Triple-A, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings of work to earn the victory for Vegas. In other news, the A’s sent RHP Tanner Anderson back to the Aviators and recalled RHP Paul Blackburn, while Las Vegas LHP Jesus Luzardo was placed on the injured list on Friday.

Second Baseman Nate Mondou

Second baseman Nate Mondou walked and singled in the RockHounds’ first run on Friday, while third baseman Edwin Diaz doubled, drew a walk and scored a run. First baseman Taylor Motter singled, walked and scored a run, and designated hitter Mikey White singled in the final run for the RockHounds. With James Naile joining Las Vegas, the Hounds had to run a number of relievers out to the mound on Friday. RHP Jesus Zambrano came out of the bullpen to make the start and was solid, throwing 3 scoreless innings. RHP Seth Martinez allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to earn the win, while LHP Zack Erwin threw a scoreless 9th to record his 3rd save for the RockHounds.

Center fielder Jameson Hannah had a pair of hits, drew a walk and drove in a run, while first baseman Alfonso Rivas collected 3 hits, and third baseman Jonah Bride singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Ports in the loss. Meanwhile, LHP Ty Damron was reassigned to Stockton from the Snappers on Friday.

The Snappers snapped their three-game losing streak on Friday. First baseman Nick Ward slugged a three-run homer in the 5th inning to account for all the Snappers’ scoring on the night. Starter Rafael Kelly turned in a strong start, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 frames to earn the win, while RHP Charlie Cerny tossed a scoreless 9th to notch the save for the Snappers. Meanwhile, Beloit LHP Ty Damron was promoted to the Ports and RHP Angello Infante was reassigned to the Snappers from Vermont on Friday.

The Lake Monsters suffered their seventh straight loss of Friday. This year’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Seth Shuman, made the start and was charged with 1 unearned run in 2 innings of work to take the loss. 23-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado was solid in relief, striking out 6 while throwing 3 scoreless innings for Vermont. This year’s 4th-round draft pick, first baseman Kyle McCann, had a pair of hits and drew a walk, while 20-year-old Venezuelan catcher Jose Rivas singled and drew a bases-loaded walk in the 9th inning to bring in the Lake Monsters’ sole run in the loss. Meanwhile, Vermont RHP Angello Infante was sent to the Snappers and RHP Osvaldo Berrios was reassigned to the Lake Monsters on Friday.
