A stellar start by RHP Mitchell Jordan helped Stockton snap its seven-game losing streak on Friday. Jordan, who was the A’s 10th-round draft pick in 2016, allowed just 1 unearned run and struck out 10 over 6 innings of work to earn his 2nd win for Stockton. RHP Peter Bayer got the final two outs in the 9th to notch the save for the Ports. Center fielder Jameson Hannah singled, walked, stole a base and slugged a two-run homer, while first baseman Alfonso Rivas singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run. Shortstop Nick Allen had 2 hits, including a double, and designated hitter Hunter Hargrove drew a walk and doubled in a run for the Ports.

After starting the season with a 15-4 record, Las Vegas lost its third straight to El Paso on Friday. Errors by first baseman Seth Brown and third baseman Sheldon Neuse helped lead to 6 runs, 5 unearned, off starter Daniel Mengden in the 1st inning. Mengden made it through just 3 frames and suffered his 1st loss for Las Vegas. LHP Ryan Buchter pitched a perfect 8th in his first appearance for the Aviators. The Las Vegas lineup launched four home runs in the loss. Center fielder Skye Bolt homered, walked twice and scored twice, while left fielder Mark Payton belted a three-run blast, and catcher Beau Taylor and first baseman Seth Brown each walked and slugged a solo shot for Las Vegas.

Shortstop Kevin Merrell doubled and drilled a two-run homer, while center fielder Dairon Blanco had 3 hits, swiped a pair of bases and drove in a run, and left fielder Chase Calabuig walked twice and doubled in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

The Snappers were shut out on just one hit in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader. Starter Chase Cohen gave up 6 runs in just 2 1/3 innings to suffer his 2nd loss, while shortstop Ryan Gridley singled to account for the Snappers’ sole hit in the loss. Meanwhile, Beloit RHP Daniel Martinez was placed on the injured list on Friday.

The Snappers suffered the loss in Friday’s second game as Peoria completed the sweep of their doubleheader. Starter Joe DeMers surrendered 7 runs over 3 2/3 innings to take the loss. First baseman Payton Squier doubled in a run, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch, while right fielder Nick Osborne and second baseman Ryan Gridley each singled in a run for the Snappers.
