Second baseman Franklin Barreto’s big bat helped the Sounds win their third straight over the division-leading Redbirds and move a game over .500 on Sunday. Barreto collected 3 hits on the day, including a pair of home runs, while driving in 5 runs for Nashville. The 22-year-old is now hitting .400 over his last 4 games, and his 5 home runs and .609 slugging percentage both lead the Sounds. Catcher Josh Phegley cracked a two-run homer, while center fielder B.J. Boyd singled twice, scored twice and stole a base, and right fielder Anthony Garcia singled in a run for the Sounds. RHP Kendall Graveman turned in a solid start on Sunday, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 over 6 1/3 innings to earn the win, while RHP Emilio Pagan struck out 3 in 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, and RHP Josh Lucas pitched a perfect 9th to close out the win for the Sounds.

LHP Jesus Luzardo turned in another strong start on Sunday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 7 over 5 frames to earn his 1st win for Midland, and RHP Nolan Blackwood threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to register his 3rd save for the RockHounds. Second baseman Eli White doubled in a run to put the Hounds on the board in the 3rd inning, and catcher Sean Murphy slugged his 4th home run in the 6th to provide the winning run for the RockHounds.

Starter Parker Dunshee allowed 3 runs over 5 1/3 frames to suffer his 1st loss for Stockton, while catcher Collin Theroux drew a pair of walks and doubled for the Ports’ only extra-base hit in the loss

Shortstop Jesus Lopez doubled in a pair of runs with two outs in the 2nd inning to provide all the runs the Snappers would need on Sunday. Starter Jean Ruiz was solid, allowing just 1 run over 4 frames, while RHP Seth Martinez threw 3 shutout innings in relief to earn the win, and LHP Josh Reagan tossed 2 scoreless frames to secure his 3rd save for the Snappers.
